(Vancouver, WA) -- A man is being held on 20-thousand dollars bail on accusations that he assaulted his own three-month-old baby. Thirty-five-year-old Ervin Ferma appeared in a Clark County courtroom yesterday on charges of first-degree child assault and first-degree domestic violence. Police say Ferma's child was hospitalized last Monday for broken blood vessels and possible brain damage. Ferma allegedly told police that he was tossing his baby up and catching him when his neck swung forward and that the child had also fallen out of his stroller a couple weeks earlier. However, doctors tell police that neither of those activities would have caused the child's injuries.
