(Portland, OR)  --  Discipline handed down to Portland firefighters may be erased from their personnel files.  The City Council adopted an ordinance yesterday that calls for the purges after a year for minor offenses, three years for more serious ones.  Fire Chief Mike Myers told The Oregonian that nearly every discipline results in a fight with the union, which he termed a waste of his time.
