(Portland, OR)  --  A man is dead after falling 25 feet near Bridal Veil Falls in the Columbia River Gorge.  The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office says the 64-year-old man was hiking with his wife and two adult children to celebrate his birthday yesterday afternoon when he fell from a viewing platform near the upper trailhead.  It's not yet clear how the man fell.  Authorities expect to release his identity sometime today.
