(Portland, OR)  --  Fire officials say a malfunctioning air conditioning unit is responsible for an early morning fire that damaged a home in northeast Portland.  Firefighters responded to the blaze at an apartment on Northeast Broadway just before 2:00 this morning.  No injuries were reported.
