OSU Research: Required P.E. Makes Students More Active

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Some new research out of Oregon State University shows that requiring physical activity classes encourages inactive students to be more active.  OSU researchers studied over 950 students from two universities and asked them to fill out surveys about their physical activity.  Results showed that students who were forced to take physical activity classes felt less motivated to be active, but suggested those requirements were helping students who wouldn't normally be active get active.  The results also showed that students became more motivated as they got older.
