Officials Warn Against Contact With Columbia Slough Water

(Portland, OR)  --  Health officials are warning residents to avoid contact with the water in the Columbia Slough in North Portland.  OregonLive reports that stormwater and partially treated sewage overflowed Wednesday night for about 20 minutes.  The Portland Bureau of Environmental Services says it may be two days before the water is safe in the area of North Portland Road.  The overflow reportedly happened when an automatic gate didn't work properly.
