(Portland, OR)  --  The Columbia River is closed to salmon fishing.  The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife enacted the closure late last week due to salmon returns that are well below preseason predictions.  The department says only 105-thousand-795 adult Chinook passed through the Bonneville Dam as of last Monday.  That's only 75-percent of what the department was expecting.
