(Portland, OR)  --  Hood River County's only Veteran's Service Office is being saved from closure.  The Hood River County Board of Commissioners voted yesterday to continue funding the office.  The board has agreed to contribute more than 31-thousand dollars to funding the office.  The office serves about 12-hundred veterans who would have had to travel to Portland or The Dalles to access services had the office been closed.
