(Portland, OR) -- Business owners in the Parkrose neighborhood want relief from the homeless. The Oregonian reports that members of the Parkrose Business Association pleaded with the City Council Tuesday for police protection against misbehavior by those on the streets. Angie Jenkins said homeless people publicly relieve themselves, use drugs and intimidate people while the police do nothing, saying their hands are tied. Mayor Ted Wheeler assured the group the laws will be enforced, and said accusations that he has prevented that enforcement are lies.
