46 Oregonians' Guns Seized Under New Safety Law

(Salem, OR)  --  At least 46 Oregonians are giving up their guns in the name of safety.  OregonLive reports that they were ordered to surrender the weapons under a new law intended to stop suicides and mass shootings.  More than half of the cases were in Multnomah, Washington and Josephine counties.  Many of the gun seizures involved threats of suicide.  Multnomah County Sheriff Mike Reese praises the extreme risk protection order as an important part of reducing gun violence.
