(Portland, OR)  --  Three people are dead following a crash west of Detroit Lake.  Police say the crash happened Monday night on Highway 22 East near milepost 35.  The vehicle involved was reportedly carrying five passengers when it veered off the roadway and crashed into several trees.  The driver and a passenger survived with injuries.  The other three passengers were declared dead at the scene.
