(Portland, OR)  --  The Godfather of Portland animation has died.  Family members of Will Vinton say the 70-year-old claymation powerhouse died yesterday morning after a 12-year battle with multiple myeloma.  That's a form of cancer that affects the white blood cells.  Vinton was known for creating several iconic claymation characters, including the California Raisins, the Domino's Pizza Noid and the PJs.  Vinton was born in McMinnville.
