(Alfalfa, OR) -- An Oregon woman will have to foot the bill after crashing into a herd of cows. KTVZ television reports Ardis Cox was driving through Alfalfa not too long ago when she came over a hill and ran into the herd. She told the TV station her Chevy SUV was destroyed but she wasn't hurt and neither was her husband. Three cows died, though, and she is now being ordered to pay for them. Oregon's "open range" law makes a person responsible if they crash into a cow, because the animals are allowed to freely roam in certain areas.
