(Portland, OR) -- No injuries are being reported after a Hood River County sheriff's deputy opened fire on a motorist who allegedly tried to hit him with his car. Oregon State Police say the deputy was at the Mitchell Point trailhead in the Columbia River Gorge Monday afternoon when he saw the suspect's stopped car and went to check on him. That's when police say the driver drove at him, prompting the deputy to open fire. The driver crashed into the deputy's patrol car and then fell down an embankment. The deputy arrested him.
