Gun Rights Measure Passes In 8 OR Counties

(Salem, OR)  --  A measure aimed at giving gun lovers more rights is now law in eight Oregon counties.  OregonLive reports that the local measure was pushed to victory by militia groups.  The measure gives people who live in approving counties the right to own semi-automatic weapons and high-capacity magazines, regardless of state or federal law.  Partial returns show that it passed in Baker, Columbia, Douglas, Klamath, Lake, Linn, Umatilla and Union counties.  It failed in Jackson and Lincoln counties.
