(Washington, DC)  --  The FBI is now classifying the far-right Proud Boys as an extremist group.  A report produced by Washington state law enforcement says the group is now designated with ties to white nationalism.  The report says the FBI is warning law enforcement that the Proud Boys are actively recruiting in the Pacific Northwest.  The group, largely defined by misogyny and racism, is known for inciting violence at political rallies.  The group's leader, Gavin McInnes, insists the Proud Boys aren't white nationalist or alt-right, but the Southern Poverty Law Center has them listed as a hate group.  The Proud Boys make regular appearances at Portland right-wing rallies.
