Indian Authorities Give Up Attempt To Retrieve Body Of American Missionary

(New Delhi)  --  The body of an American missionary killed by an isolated tribe still hasn't been recovered.  John Chau, from Washington state, was reportedly attempting to convert the Sentinelese people to Christianity before his death earlier this month.  The Sentinelese live on a tiny, remote island in the Bay of Bengal.  Journal entries obtained by the Washington Post show the 26-year-old adventurer was attacked by tribesmen the day before he was killed.  Chau noted that his Bible was pierced by an arrow.  He apparently tried to get on shore but was killed by a flurry of arrows.  Over the weekend, Indian authorities gave up on an effort to recover his body when stared down by members of the tribe.
