Fire Chief Mike Myers Resigns

(Portland, OR)  --  Portland Fire and Rescue Chief Mike Myers is stepping down.  Myers announced his retirement yesterday, saying he plans to move to the Oregon coast, where he'll work as the Emergency Manager for Cannon Beach.  Myers says his only regret in resigning is that he won't get to work with newly sworn in Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty, who replaces Dan Saltzman as the commissioner assigned to Portland Fire and Rescue.  Hardesty was sworn into office Wednesday as the first black woman to ever serve on Portland's City Council.
