Portland Comedian Goes Viral After Being Pulled Off Bus In Spokane

(Spokane, WA)  --  A Portland comedian is going viral after border patrol agents pulled him off a bus in Washington state, asked him for his papers and then accused him of faking them.  Mohanad Elshieky tweeted yesterday that he was on a Portland-bound bus waiting to depart at the Spokane Greyhound bus station in eastern Washington that morning when the agents removed him and a few others from the bus.  Elshieky says the agents interrogated him for 20 minutes before telling him his asylum papers were fake and that he was in the country illegally.  The comedian adds that when one of the agents called immigration to check his status, he overheard the person on the other end say that he was in the system and had entered the country legally.  Elshieky says the agents then ended the call and lied, telling him they'd been told there was no record of him.  The agents reportedly let him go on a warning after he threatened legal action.
