(Olympia, WA) -- There are now 35 confirmed cases of measles in the state of Washington, along with nine suspected cases. Governor Jay Inslee has declared a state of emergency. All but one of the confirmed cases are in Clark County, which is on the border with Oregon. The other case is in King County. The disease was declared eliminated in the U.S. in 2000, but there has been a rise in cases of it in unvaccinated children.
