(Portland, OR) -- The Portland City Council will vote this month on whether to withdraw from the FBI's Joint-Terrorism Task Force. A vote is tentatively scheduled for February 13th. Commissioner Jo-Ann Hardesty promised during her campaign last year to put the issue to a vote. The city of Portland previously withdrew from the task force under Mayor Tom Potter, but later rejoined in 2015. The Joint Terrorism Task Force is a cooperative partnership between local law enforcement and the FBI.
