(Salem, OR)  --  Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who crashed into blind man and his guide dog in Salem.  Police say Steve Murphy and his dog Amelia were walking near Liberty Road and Hrubetz Road Monday night when a car struck them both and then took off.  Murphy reportedly suffered several broken vertebrae in his neck as well as fractured ribs, a fractured pelvis and a torn ligament.  The dog suffered some minor scrapes and is expected to be fine.  Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
