Friends, Family Remember Teen Shot To Death By Police

(Vancouver, WA)  --  Friends and family are remembering a 16-year-old boy who was shot and killed by police in Vancouver.  Clayton Joseph died in a hospital after police shot him Tuesday night.  Friends and family tell KATU Joseph moved to the U.S. from Micronesia six months ago.  They describe the Evergreen High School student as a good kid who was happy and always eager to help others.  The Vancouver Police Department says officers were responding to a domestic disturbance call at an apartment complex at 10th and Southeast Ellsworth Road Tuesday night when Joseph and another man started fighting in the parking lot.  Police say Joseph pulled out a knife and did not comply with their orders, so they shot him.  Family members say Joseph was trying to stop the fight when police intervened and that he was not the agitator.
