(Portland, OR)  --  Former Secretary of State Norma Paulus has died.  KATU reports Paulus died yesterday at the age of 85.  Paulus was the first woman to be elected to a state office.  She served as a state representative from 1970 to 1976, when she was elected secretary of state.  She was re-elected in 1980.
