Substitute Teacher Banned From District After Racist Comments To Student

(Salem, OR)  --  A Salem substitute teacher is banned from her school district after making racist comments to a student.  KATU reports the unidentified teacher told a Swegle Elementary fifth-grader that he should "go back to Mexico" if he didn't want to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.  A spokesperson for the Salem-Keizer school district says the teacher has been barred from teaching in their schools.
