(Portland, OR) -- A man is facing charges after allegedly shooting a woman in the chest with a flare gun. Police arrested William Davis Monday for the assault they say capped a violent robbery spree that started late last month. Police say Davis tried to rob his victim last Friday, but she told him she had nothing for him to take. She then talked with him for about ten minutes before trying to leave, prompting Davis to allegedly pull out the flare gun and shoot her in the chest. She survived with injuries. Police say Davis also threatened to kill a convenience store cashier after she confronted him about shoplifting a couple muffins. He's also accused of shoplifting several items from a Walmart store and threatening violence against security when they confronted him.
