New Bill Would Freeze College Tuition For Students Through 2021

(Salem, OR)  --  Oregon lawmakers could give college students a break for the next few years, and put a temporary freeze on tuition costs at state universities and colleges.  Under House Bill 3381, administrators at those institutions would be prohibited from increasing tuition through spring 2021.  Supporters of the bill say the idea could help keep costs flat for incoming students, forcing them to take out less money for student loans.
