(Portland, OR)  --  One man is facing charges following a car chase and hours-long standoff in Sweet Home.  Police say the chase began Friday night when officers responded to reports of an assault on Ironwood Street and the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.  The suspect eventually stopped his vehicle but then allegedly got out with a firearm and refused to comply with officers.  Police called in a SWAT team, and the suspect eventually surrendered to officers around 5:30 Saturday morning.  No injuries were reported.  Police identify the suspect as 50-year-old Darrell Loren Schilling.
