Judge Grants Mom's Request, Sentences Woman Who Pushed Daughter Off Bridge To Two Days

(Vancouver, WA)  --  A Washington state judge is granting a mother's request, sentencing the woman who admits to shoving her daughter off a 60-foot tall bridge to one day in jail for every day her child spent in the hospital.  Taylor Smith pled guilty last week to shoving Jordan Holgerson off the bridge at Moulton Falls Regional Park.  The moment was posted to social media and went viral.  Holgerson suffered five broken ribs and two punctured lungs from the fall.  She also dealt with emotional strife, including PTSD and insomnia.  The 19-year-old Smith was sentenced to two days in jail, plus 38 days of community service on a work crew.  It was a surprising sentence because Smith had agreed to a plea deal that would have had her serve no jail time, 30 days on a county work crew and 30 days of community service.
