(Portland, OR)  --  A man is facing several years under psychiatric care after being found guilty except for insanity of violently assaulting his grandmother.  A jury returned that verdict yesterday against 28-year-old Matthew James Hegler.  He was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of fourth degree assault, one count of unlawful use of a weapon, one count of menacing, and one count of attempted strangulation.  Police say he severely injured his grandmother in the domestic violence incident at her Portland home in June of 2017.
