CDC Monitoring Six Measles Outbreaks

(Washington, DC)  --  The Centers for Disease Control is monitoring southwest Washington's measles outbreak along with five other outbreaks across the country.  The CDC says just this year there have been more than 300 confirmed cases of measles in 15 states.  The outbreaks are in Rockland County, New York; New York City, Washington state, Texas, Illinois and California.  Those cases have been linked to travelers who brought the disease back from countries such as Israel and Ukraine.  The CDC says most people who get measles are unvaccinated.
