Man Jailed For Assaulting Dog

(Portland, OR)  --  An Oregon man will spend 60 days in jail after sexually assaulting a dog.  The dog suffered internal injuries so severe it had to be put down.  A judge in Portland this week told 52-year-old Fidel Lopez he would have given him more time but that 60 days was the maximum allowed by law.  Lopez also can't own a dog for 15 years and has to undergo treatment for animal abusers.  The dog, a Lhaso Apso mix named Estrella, was owned by an acquaintance of Lopez.
