(Bronx, NY) -- Fordham University in New York says it will confer a bachelor's degree on the student killed in a tragic fall from the Bronx school's clock tower. Sydney Monfries, a 22-year-old from Portland, Oregon, died Sunday just weeks before graduation. Monfries and several other seniors had climbed the tower to touch its bell and snap photos of New York City. The journalism student lost her footing and fell 30 to 40 feet inside the tower. Climbs are off-limits there but it's been a Fordham tradition for years.
