(Vancouver, WA) -- A memorial service is scheduled today for a sheriff's deputy killed in the line of duty in southwestern Washington. The service for Cowlitz County Sheriff's Deputy Justin DeRosier will take place at the University of Portland's Chiles Center at 1 p.m. A live video streaming of the memorial is scheduled for the same time at Longview's Newlife Church. DeRosier was shot and killed April 13th while checking on a disabled motorhome blocking a road near Kelso. Suspected shooter Brian Butts was shot and killed by Kelso police officers the following night after he allegedly flashed a gun at them while they were trying to arrest him. Two brothers, Matthew and Michael Veatch, also face charges in the case.
