(Salem, OR) -- Oregon Senate President Peter Courtney is pleading with absent Republican lawmakers to return to the State Capitol to do their jobs. Courtney adjourned a brief session yesterday morning after failing to reach a quorum. Courtney used the session to ask Republicans to return to the Capitol, saying there are budgets and public policy items that need to be passed. Yesterday's session came a day after the State Capitol was closed due to possible threats from militia groups supportive of the missing Republicans.
