(Washougal, WA)  --  Two German nationals are dead after being mowed down by a Jeep while sunbathing along the Washougal River in Clark County.  The Washougal Police Department says the man and woman were lying on the beach at Sandy Swimming Hole Park yesterday evening when a Jeep Grand Cherokee crashed through a chain link fence and drove onto the beach, running them over.  Witnesses tell police the vehicle did not slow down before leaving the scene.  Both victims died at a hospital.  Police tracked down and arrested the suspect, who is described as a Washougal man in his early 70s.  An investigation is ongoing.
