Man Serving Life Sentence Being Released From Jail After Conviction Overturned

(Portland, OR)  --  The man convicted of killing Oregon's prisons chief in 1989 is being released from prison today after his conviction was overturned earlier this year.  Frank Gable has spent the last three decades serving a life sentence for the death of Michael Francke.  A judge overturned Gable's conviction in April after it came to light that another man confessed to the crime and that several witnesses who testified against Gable later recanted their testimony.  Gable will remain under federal supervision pending a state appeal.
