(Lyons, OR)  --  A man is dead after drowning in the Santiam River while trying to save his daughter from drowning.  Twenty-nine-year-old Baltazar Tellovelasco of California reportedly jumped into the river at North Fork Park yesterday afternoon after his 12-year-old daughter began struggling in the water.  Witnesses took him out of the water and officials tried to resuscitate him, but he died at the scene.  His daughter safely made it back to shore and was uninjured.
