(Portland, OR) -- An Oregon DMV worker and her boyfriend face numerous charges after investigators say they organized a scheme to steal dozens of cars in the Portland area. According to arrest records, 37-year-old Valerie Applegate looked up driver information on cars for 36-year-old Israel Fonseca. Fonseca would then follow the cars from the drivers' homes, and then steal them while the owners were at public events. The suspect would then strip the cars of everything valuable and then sell those items online. Police say Applegate and Fonseca ran the scheme for at least two years.
