Sister Charged For Shooting Death Of PSU Student-Athlete

(Portland, OR)  --  The 30-year-old sister of a Portland State University student-athlete is officially charged in his death.  Multnomah County District Attorney Rod Underhill announced yesterday that Tamena Strickland is charged with one count of murder with a firearm and two counts of attempted murder with a firearm.  Police arrested Strickland late Friday night for the shooting death of 22-year-old Deante Strickland earlier that day.  The siblings' grandmother and other sister were injured in the shooting.  Family members tell KGW8 Tamena entered a home on Northeast 42nd Avenue near Ainsworth Street Friday afternoon and shot the three family members.  Deante played basketball for PSU and was gearing up to join the football team on the field this fall.
