(Portland, OR) -- A celebration of life is scheduled next week for a Portland State University student-athlete who was allegedly shot to death by his older sister. PSU officials say the public is welcome to attend the memorial scheduled next Wednesday for 22-year-old Deante Strickland. Police have arrested 30-year-old Tamena Strickland for the shooting last Friday that killed Deante and injured two of the siblings' relatives. She's charged with one count of murder with a firearm and two counts of attempted murder with a firearm. Deante played basketball for PSU and was gearing up to join the football team on the field this fall.
