Man Arrested For Driving Into River, Injuring Wife

(Portland, OR)  --  A man is facing several charges after intentionally driving into the Clackamas River with his wife in the passenger seat.  The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested Daniel Wayne Findley early Saturday morning on charges of second-degree attempted assault, reckless endangering and failure to perform the duties of a driver with injury.  Police say Findley drove into the river last Thursday and then swam out to the middle of the river and floated downstream.  His wife was able to escape the vehicle and suffered only minor injuries.  Deputies found Findley in "disheveled condition" near Highway 224 and 197th Avenue and arrested him.
