(Portland, OR)  --  A Damascus man is recovering after suffering both a heart attack and a stroke in the same day.  KATU reports Earl Heberlein was at work at Lattice Semiconductor in Hillsboro Tuesday when he suddenly collapsed after suffering a heart attack.  Coworkers rushed to his aid and used an automated external defibrillator the company has on-site to re-start his heart.  He was rushed to a hospital and was recovering when he suddenly began experiencing slurred speech and impaired movement on the right side of his body.  Doctors recognized that he was suffering from a stroke and rushed him to the emergency room, where surgeons removed a substantial clot from his carotid artery.  Doctors say the case is unusual but that he's expected to make a full recovery.
