(Portland, OR)  --  New rules are in place to prevent racial taunts and derogatory behavior from happening at high school sporting events.  The Oregon School Activities Association now requires a pre-contest public announcement and announcements made throughout games.  The messages will encourage the audience to model good sportsmanship by refraining from derogatory cheers.  Those who do not abide could be removed from the sporting event and banned from future ones.
