(Portland, OR)  --  A 38-year-old man is facing hate crime charges after allegedly assaulting a transgender woman while using hate speech against her in the Pearl District.  The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office says Dominick Gonzales is facing one count of first-degree felony bias crime along with one count of second-degree bias crime and one count of fourth-degree assault.  Police say Gonzales confronted the woman and her friend while they were standing in line for coffee Sunday and used racist, homophobic and transphobic language toward her before punching her in the face.  Police arrested him a few blocks away from the scene later Sunday morning.
