Portland Sewer Pipes Need Repairs After Untreated Water Leaks Into Embankment

(Portland, OR)  --  Urgent repairs are needed after a sewer pipe in Northeast Portland leaked.  About one-thousand gallons of untreated sewer water went into an embankment near I-84 and Northeast 21st Avenue.  The leak was plugged on Saturday after complaints of a bad smell.  The Portland Bureau of Environmental Services says 36-hundred feet of sewer pipes in downtown are at high risk of collapse.
