Voters Approve Water Service Aid Measure

(Portland, OR)  --  Voters in Portland are approving a water emergency measure.  Yesterday, voters approved the measure that allows the city to use water customers' payments to aid other cities and jurisdictions during water-related emergencies.  Partial ballot returns show Measure 26-205 passing with 83-percent of the vote.  The measure would allow Portland to aid other jurisdictions in the event of a significant disaster that affects water service, such as an earthquake.
