(Portland, OR) -- Portland's beloved therapy llama Rojo is dead. Rojo's owners posted on Instagram that Rojo peacefully passed away yesterday morning, just before he was scheduled to be euthanized. Rojo's owners say he was made comfortable in his final hours and no anesthesia was necessary. Rojo has been suffering deteriorating health and was retired as a certified therapy animal last month. Rojo's owners say they're hoping to have Rojo preserved through taxidermy and placed in the Washington State School for the Blind's wildlife safari room.
