(Portland, OR)  --  An 84-year-old man is dead following a crash on Highway 38 in Douglas County.  The Oregon State Police say John Norlin was driving a pickup truck on Highway 38 near Elkton Saturday when he veered off the roadway and crashed into a tree.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
