(Salem, OR)  --  A Salem man is dead following a crash on Highway 20 in rural Oregon.  Police say 75-year-old Gerald Gates was driving a 1992 Chevrolet Corvette west on the highway near the Lake/Harney County line Wednesday afternoon when he veered off the roadway and crashed into a tree.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.
